Add your dogs
A kennel starts with its dogs. Add each dog once, with the few things the rest of the app builds on.
A new kennel has no dogs yet, so Home shows Add your dogs. Later you add a dog under Dogs with Add dog.
The fields
- Name. As you call the dog in the yard. A long name runs on like a sentence; that is fine.
- Sex. Needed for heats and for the warning in a lineup.
- Born. The dog page shows the age from it.
- Can run in lead. Dogs with this on get the word Lead in the list and are easy to find when you build a lineup.
- Puppy until. A puppy has a last day as a puppy and becomes an adult overnight on that date.
Save, and the dog is in the list for everyone in the kennel. Runs, kilometres and the last run fill in by themselves once the dog is in a training.
Later changes
Retired and deceased dogs keep their history and stay out of the lists unless you filter for them. An injury or a period out is not set on the dog form but from the dog page, so a running injury is never ended by accident when you save the form.
